2006 E350
Warranty Question

I just recently bought a 2006 E350 4matic from a used car dealership with 48,000 miles on it. Is this car still covered under the Mercedes Benz warranty even though I am not the original owner of the car? Any help would be much appreciated.

It would be covered under the current (2010) warranty terms which is 4year/50k miles - you are in the 4th year 50k mile mark - the warranty remains on the vehicle under 2010 terms. It may have been different when the car model year (2006) and that would be what would dictate any claims.

This answer is either wrong, or I am not understanding what you are saying. MB's warranty is for 4 years, 50K miles. If his car is a 2006, it is most likely over the 4 year mark which means the original manufacturer warranty has expired. Not sure what you mean by 2010 terms, as the vehicle was obviously not purchased new in 2010.

That said, the car may be covered by an extended warranty if you either purchased one, or if the dealer included it with the vehicle. If not, you may still be able to purchase a third party extended warranty.

the MB warranty terms as of 2010 are 4 years 50k, I am not sure what they were in 2006, the year of this vehicle...thus, my answer was drafted in 2010 terms, not those in effect in 2006 which could have been different. I didn't bother to look, after all that should be the original poster's responsibility. A

The 4-year 50K MB OEM warranty begins on the in-service date. I seriously doubt there is any warranty left on the car unless it was first sold in late 2006or early 2007. Your local dealer can give you the in-service date. You can also check your Carfax report for a good estimate.
