Some weeks ago a lady on a Toyota Yaris, YES a Toyota Yaris , decided to stop with my 2003 E-320. I was waiting on traffic for the light to change and she basically did not stop until she hit my car. Oddly enough I hit another Mercedes (ML-350) but the guy said his car was OK and left. Here are some pictures:





After the Repair Shop took it apart, the Insurance decided to declare the vehicle a total loss . Unfortunately the "poor excuse for a car" hit me hard enough to cause damage to the chasis among many other parts.

Since I added several things after I purchased my E-Class, the Insurance let me remove them so, I will be selling the following:

EURO COMMAND DVD PLAYER
Mercedes IPOD Adapter
DENSION Gateway Icelink 500 (yes I had both)
Phone Cradle with Puck
Mercedes DVD Navigation Trunk Unit (with US DVD and the metal base)
Staggered Rims (sport package '08 e class)

I will post pictures,prices and more details as soon as possible but wanted to post this for anybody that might be intrested to know ahead of time.

And no, as much as I loved my E-Class (and it is one of the best well made cars I have ever worked on), I will take a break from the expensive maintenance fees and go with another make of car. I always loved how easy the Service Rep at the Dealer will tell you that a service will cost $700 or $800 and they would look at you like "yes, you have a Mercedes so, you must have the money to pay for this!" without saying a word.

Sorry to see you leave the Benz family. Gotta hate it when people ruin your fun!

 

That doesn't look like a total loss to me though.... New bumper x2, trunk, massage out the aluminum beneath the trunk, and tail lights.

Hope that insurer of the yaris pays you more than what her car was worth!

how did you get the dvd nav unit to work in the 2003? I have a 2003 e500 and would really like to have a nav unit but I don't have the head unit for it either.... please pm me with the price.....

If you could get to where I live (Central NJ) I will help you install it since I know how to do it within like 1 hour. If not, I can give you a few pointers to make it easier for you. The DENSION has some PROs and CONs but the PROs are more than the CONs.

I bought the EURO COMMAND UNIT (which also plays DVDs) and then installed the Navigation DVD Unit in the trunk. You have to reconnect the fiber ring (located on the floor of the the driver passenger side) in order for the Navigation DVD unit to work.

Give me a few days and I will send you a message with pictures on the COMMAND UNIT and the NAVIGATION DVD trunk unit (and price if you are interested). You also need the antenna split (which I have) in order for the car antenna to be used by the NAVIGATION.

Thanks! It sucks but, such is life . Like I said, I loved that car, is the best manufactured car I have ever worked on and I have worked on quite a few but maintenance is a killer on these cars.

I am almost sure is not the new NTG2.5. I believe the Date Manufactured was like 2006 or something like that. I will take pictures as soon as possible and post them along with the price.

Sorry for the delay but I am working on getting all the details in place to get my check from the insurance and looking for my next vehicle which most likely be an Audi A5 (I wanna change to a coupe).

I thought the same thing until they took the car apart and showed me the damage to the chassis. It does not show but she hit me to hard that the battery was broken by the metal on the trunk.

My Insurance is handling everything and they gave me more than I expected which makes me a little happy.

I dedicated my efforts on to taking off all the things I added inside the car that I completely forgot to take the spoilers that I put on the car. At this time the car has already been taken by the Insurance Company. Sorry !
