Does Anyone Drive Their E As Much As ME??
Other than regular maintenance, mostly at independent, I have only has issues with crank sensor and front control arms.
I live 100mi from work and drive E every day.
What a great car!

He also says his E is one of the last tank-like, ultra-reliable Merc's, always bringing the put-downs on my lemon-worthy S.

Some feel they are amongst the last of the pre-00 "true Mercedes'", and some feel they are the first of the "nu era under-engineered Mercedes" which went until the early MY W211's.
From my research, they have remnants of the older Mercs, but are really the first offender in terms of quality cut M-B's ("Schrempf era"). Just look at the Crash Test Ratings of the pre-facelift W210's, total POS's, folded in half, no strength to the safety cell compartment. The car actually performed worse than the W124 before it. They fixed this problem when they did extensive improvements to the facelifted W210.
I love the W210, but your Tutor is a bit off, even though his is obviously an amazing example.
I have my 250,000 km badge and plan to keep my car for a couple of more years. The 500,000 km badge is next at about 305,000 miles.

So many people think it's such a death-wish risk to own one of these after the Warranty, nice to see that is far from the truth in some cases. Especially considering some are posting with '03-'04 examples.
). The engine is still brilliant, has had no repairs done on it whatsoever, just regular maintenance. Many of the suspension parts have been changed over the years though (pretty much all of the ball joints). His previous car was an E290 TD with over 350k kms on it, too.

But of course your results may vary and be better than mine.
