Steering wheel swap question

Hello Everyone,

I have done a lot of searching on the forum and a general google search and can't seem to find the answers I am looking for.

I have an AMG steering wheel with the shifters and I want to install it in my 2006 E350. I know how to remove it and put it back on but my question is about the wiring.

The yellow and green go to the airbag. What about the other 2 wires? does anyone know where it plugs into? Does anyone have any pictures of where it should go? Am I missing a part? I know once its installed I have to hook it up to the Star Diagnostic computer to have it recognized but before that I need to have it all plugged in.

Thank you all in advance for all your help.

there is some sort of connector on the steering wheel where the other 2 wires connect. maybe your AMG steering wheel didnot come with it.

They're 2 different sizes. One is for the horn and the other for the shifters. Once you install it you can't really mess it up... good luck its pretty straight forward.

You're not going to create steering wheel shifting on a car that didn't originally have it simply by changing the steering wheel. The wiring doesn't exist on cars that didn't originally have steering wheel buttons/paddles.

Steering Wheel

Thanks everyone for the response. I think I figured out that I am missing a part that the horn and shifters plug into.

I found this photo and there is a bar that the plugs go into.

This is a pic of what I have without the air bag. Does anyone know what goes on the area that I circled and put an arrow on? I think its that bar like the pic above. Where can I get the info on getting the part number.

Again, thanks everyone.

the small molex connector is for the "roll connector" to operate everything on the wheel. The other is for the horn.
