In west Texas we have 80 mph speed limit and the state is looking at 85 mph now but it will be a few years out.
I like topping a hill and looking down a road for 10 miles or so and then setting the cruise at 55 mph with Sammy on the mp3

When I was going to school in Spain our school bus would run 130 to 140 kph on the way to school and going home.
So I have always driven a little to fast here in the U.S. or almost everyone else drives a little slow.

Exactly! What the speedometer says isn't necessarily what speed you're going when you consider speedometer error and tire diameter differences indicating a speed higher or lower than actual speed.
If I were you, I would verify it by your GPS next time you go for a high speed run.
