Eliminated Brake Dust
Several weeks ago I installed Akebono brake pads on my E550 and followed it up with Armorall wheel protectant and Mcguire's Endurance tire protectant. I've driven the car in almost all weather conditions except snow to-date and had it washed every week. At first I was skeptical but after several weeks there is virtually no brake dust build-up and my rims and tires always look like the just came out of the car wash. This combination appears to really work and I'm now a believer!

Yes, my brakes now feel a lot firmer and my stopping distance appears to have decreased. The OEM brake pads I removed still had a lot of remaining use but they were just too dirty. I replaced my 07 Sport rims with OEM 5-star AMG rims and my Conti's with Michelin Pilot Sport plus A/S tires and wanted to keep this combo looking nice. The combination of Akebono pads (a lot less brake dust), ArmorAll and Mcguire's meets this requirement.

I've never noticed a performance gain after installing K&N's but it's nice to think there is one. As soon as I get some minor body work taken care I'll be able to send my ECU to Powerchips for a reflash which should net me 405 HP and 412 TQ. That shoud be enough to overtake the M3 and the Jag. As soon as I reflash the ECU I'll post the results.
