check engine light
Check engine light came on, tried the gas cap stuff for about two days and took the car into the Kingston Garage in NJ. I trust them a lot. They ran the test and found that the thermostat was bad, wanted $128 for the new part and all told about $450 for all the rest... I am not mechanically inclined so could not do the work myself.
I wish it had just been the gas cap...

... and you should wish that the CEL doesn't come on again for the same problem. In the future (with CELs), you should go to a place like Autozone and have them read the codes for you so you can post them here. At least you may get some advice as to what the problem could be and some relative costs to plan for.

So please, is anyone can tell us how easy/difficult to replace a thermostat, also is it OK to use an aftermarket part?..
