I have a 2003 E320 Sport and my radio fades in and out. it looks like it has something to do with my SOS because it cuts off when this shows up in my cluster. Took it to Mercedes and they say that I need a new radio ($2000.00) I don't think so. I need help!!
My radio just started doing the same thing. It plays then my dash says SOS not activated them it cuts out and comes back on. It just periodically does it. Any suggestions???
Found out what the problem was with my radio problems by accident. Turns out, I needed a new Battery. My battery had gone dead 2 days in a row so I decided to get a new Battery and when I did, ironically it fixed the radio problem as well.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Disconnect battery for 20 min to reset system. Glad to see it was a cheap fix compared to new radio.
Don't those stearlerships just **** you off!!!!! Imagine if you had bent over and let them take that money from you. Then turn around and have the same problem I honestly think they don't know s*&^ about troubleshooting. What the hell is going on with these damn Mercedes service shops?!!!!!!!
