I'm in the process of installing a custom sub enclosure in my 09 E63 and would like ideas on best positioning and install best practices for this model.
I have 2 Alpine Type R 10" subs in a custom sealed enclosure currently installed. I have removed the center pass through to allow the sound to enter the cabin. I attempted with the pass through in and the subs were all but muffled. I did not remove the oem sub as I want to keep the install as stock as possible. The subs are powered by a pair of Pioneer mono 1200 watt amps which I have mounted in the spare tire compartment to keep the install as clean looking as possible.
Has anyone installed a custom enclosure and if so, how was it accomplished to keep the stock look?
