Hi last night i was playing in the engineering menu and i formatted the whole comand aps and did a lot of things on it but nothing happend so i said ok and parked the car turned off and the nav display turns on and says software update and cant stop it nothing is working anymore i inserted all the Cd's from Mercedes and it's not updating made a lot of Cd's with software that i found on gpsundergrund but still nothing. I read here the i stop it from the battery i might lose the comand aps and until next week i can't go to a mercedes dealer what i ask from you if you cand help me put any software on it so i can turn it off. I have an E280 2005 3.2 CDI NTG1 i think.

You are not very "lucki". The head unit seems to be waiting for the basic firmware, not that from navi discs. It should recover from a service CD, but not from any of those (I do not have the correct one, I know there is a forum member who would have one, I cannot remember who it was).

I've had the same situation last week and just put the update CD and it started to do it....
BTW it was actually the downgrading cause the previous soft was latets version and the one I put was from 03....try to burn CD with a software but remember to FINALIZE the disc. Let me know if you have some qs

The service CD for the head unit is different for Euro cars from that for US cars. I'll let you know if I can find a US CD, or why not ask from Hubi, the image can be sent via email.
Sorry I logged in with a facebook account and thought the will post my location from it. Now i managed to find a US CD and it worked but no video a lot of wierd stuff in it like satellite radio and doesn't read the track list and it's blocking. Can you give me the Euro update and the combination of keys so i can switch it back to euro ?

Previous owners who have done that, say it is not possible to go back. You can always try but I believe my latest service CD is not good for that, the first release could work.
Engineering menu is bad for people who don't know what they are doing, and this is why it keeps getting harder and harder to figure out how to get into it... People mess things up when they don't know what to do...
You should indicate your location at your profile specifically if it is something different from the US.
I've got the Euro service CD by the way.

hi, i have problem with my navigation ntg1, he is stuck in update screen, he dont accept any command. i tried to install a update from mercedes site with a cd and dvd and he give them out, please hep me, what i need to do to fix my navication

Not the navigation system, your COMAND. That is the device in your picture. Your navigation system is in the trunk if you eben have one.

ok, so you want to unplug the comand from dashboard to send you? Man, how i can do that, I send to a stranger a part from car and have trust you will fix and send me back..... like I say up, I hope to find a fix with a cd/DVD or to resset the command, is still stuck, and he reject any cd or DVD what i do with updates from mercedes oficial site

I dont say nothing about you, I think you understand what you want, i say i don't have trust in a stranger on internet to send my command. I think you got off on the wrong foot with one of the few guys on here who can really help you. All you have to do is read some of the posts he's made and you'll realize he knows what he's doing. It sounds like you bricked it and you probably need someone who knows how to use DAS/Xentry to fix it. I doubt any CD/DVD from MB will fix it. You should just PM him to find out cost/location and other questions.
