Gas Cap (Check Engine)

So i have been gone over the weekend, when i came back the Check Engine was on and as it have done this before i'm assuming that it is the gas cap sensor.

Is there anyway to reset it yourself or so you have to take it to MB? Also do anyone know why it does this when it's been standing still for awhile.

Once the issue is corrected (in my case a loose gas cap), the check engine will reset after a small number of cycles (engine starting). In my case I'd guess about 16.
