Flat battery for 6 months

Well I've been overseas for 6 mong months, and my 03 E320 is dead.
Okay I thought no biggie dead battery, just replace the battery with a new one and it'll start. But, I tried opening the boot to no avail, there was no power left what so ever in the battery to open the boot. So I thought I'll just replace the supplementary battery in the engine compartment and so I did, and the car still wont start, nor can i even lock/unlock the doors with the remote key. Even any of the interior lights or seats, audio, etc. Since Im not prepard to call Mercedes as of yet and charge me $10000000000000000000000 to have a look at my car I'm turning to you guys at MBWorld first and see what you guys have to say. Or should I just give up now and call the people at mercedes?

Thanks in advance

Page 327 of http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA..._e320_e500.pdf has instructions on how to remove the mechanical key that is (hopefully) in your SmartKey. Page 328 has instructions on how to use the mechanical key to unlock the trunk/boot. The manual is, of course, for US models, but I expect it should be the same for yours.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
If you can open

the hood use the charging post next to the engine and a good ground and charge the battery for a good ten hours at 10 amps.
Then disconnect it and try to get in and start.

Thanks guys for the reply, yea they key thing did work lock/unlocking the boot but when its unlocked I cant open the actual boot itself cos there is no charge in the battery. If I'm right the mechanism to open the boot is battery powered. So I'm back at square 1. I heard from someone that when the battery has been flat for too long the car goes to 'hibernate' mode and it needs a reset from the people at mercedes even though after I put a new battery in

Did you look at the reference I gave you above? You can unlock the boot even if the battery is dead if you use the mechanical key.

I'll give it just one more try; I don't know how to make it any clearer:
