Houston we have a problem

Just picked up a 2006 E500 4matic. 60K on it. Went out this morning and the Command (Nav system, CD, etc) would not power up. Screen is blank. Nada.
Dash displays "Nav waiting" and when you cycle through to Audio, it says Audio with dots underneath it. Any ideas?? Fuse????

Did the radio function previously? Also does the COMAND power on? I definitely would check the fuses, both front and rear. I had similar issues when my COMAND would freeze (powers on), and the cd-changer would not show up in the Audio menu. Even though I knew the changer was operational. On the cluster the audio also had the dots underneath it, when my system froze.

What I did was pull and replaced the cd-changer fuse, and it fixed the problem.

I was so glad I didn't have to tear apart the interior, to check all the connections of the MOST ring.

Mine did the same thing. Replaced fuse in rear SAM. Works perfectly now. Ensure you leave it out for about 10 minutes then replace with new fuse.

Was reading further last night and came across a thread suggesting that by disonnecting the battery for 20 minutes you could do a hard boot on system and it would probably work. Tried it and command is now working. I just had to sync the windows, ESP and the sun roof.

Question do you think I should still change the fuse in rear SAM?
Once again thanks for the help guys!!!!

If it is working, I would leave it alone then. Simply a glitch. Two years ago my car stalled as I was slowing for a corner. Took it to the stealership and they could not find anything. Never happened again. These cars have too many electronics; but makes for great bragging conversations
