I have a 2008 E350 4Matic Sport with the navigation and 6cd changer. I want to know if there is a setting that will display the song playing - artist and name of song when listening to a radio stations. I have looked throughout the settings and find nothing! Any help is appreciated. It of course is possible this feature is not featured, but it would be hard to believe as this feature is available on most basic model radios, save for those who drive a neon or something like that.

You're right, it's hard to believe that this car doesn't have this capability. But the truth is it doesn't. There is no setting to enable it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Oh well. BTW, have you done any upgrades on yours? i just bought this one used from a Seattle dealer. We love the car, but I am always looking to improve it.

No upgrades on mine. Actually I bought it for the wife. It's already got the AMG sport package. I am thinking about adding a Sprint Booster because the throttle fells like a dead pedal when I drive this after driving my Infiniti G35.

that is the RDS feature and it is indeed an option to set in settings.....

The only way to get RDS is to upgrade to the EURO COMAND. The US COMAND's I believe do not have this feature (with the exception of early 2003 units).

It's a nice feature, because when I'm listening to the radio and hear a song I like. I'm able to find out the artist and title, and later download it off itunes

I have RDS on my 1999 Volvo S80. Really surprized that this is lacking on on the W211.

I have RDS on my 2009 W211. But it does have the later COMAND (like the one in the W212.) These have an RDS decoder (used also for live traffic on Sirius, Weather band, and HD radio.) I suppose one could install a 2009 COMAND but not sure if its truly cost effective in the end.
