HEY GUYS I AM LOOKING TO PUT SOME SUBS IN MY CAR AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT SETUPS YOU GUYS ARE RUNNING AND HOW YOU ARE GETTING OVER THE AUDIO BLOCKAGE FROM THE TRUNK TO THE CABIN. IF YOU CAN PLEASE POST PICTURES OF YOUR BOXES AND AMPS SO THAT I CAN GET AN IDEA AS FAR AS SPACING AND LOCATIONS OR ANY MODIFICATIONS NEEDED. ALSO WHAT UNIT DID YOU USE WHEN WIRING THEM IN WITH YOUR FACTORY HEAD UNIT? THANKS

Just refer to thread below...IMO...best setup is rear deck sub enclosure.

I installed a Bazooka 8" powered sub, but I'm not hearing much of it. Need to fiddle around with it a bit more. When facing the rear corner like Bazooka suggests I can't hear/feel it at all.
The rear deck enclosure cited above looks awesome but money is tight for me. I'm going to play with the Bazooka a little more and if that drives me nutty I might throw in a box with a JBL 10" sub and mount the amp directly on the box.
I think wiring for sub installs are relatively easy in these cars (w211 for me) since you can get speaker line inputs and turn on directly from the amp, and the battery is in the trunk too. On the other hand, I'm an amateur, so I may be wrong. Good luck!

Thanks guys those setups are insane. I was thinking of something like that but I didn't know how it would look and work. How did you guys hook of the rca's for the amps that part is still confusing me. Are there actually rca outputs on the factory amp? I have the Q logic system in mine and the sub output on my amp it going and its making my sub sound blown sometimes and gets interference when I hit my brakes. I think that i am either going to have to get a new $1700 amp or just replace the sub because the rest of the amp it working. Replacing the sub is the only place that would make sense to get the sounds inside of the cabin. I like a lot of bumping so the factory setup is just not enough. Any inputs

take the 4 wires from the HK amp and cut them and get the audio out converter? I forgot what its called but its $20 at Best buy...and tap the positives and negatives together and connect the RCA wires to that than to the amp

Do you also connect the remote wire to the (+)? I went to one of my local stereo shops and they were telling me that the higher end JL amps have a converter built in and that I would only need to hook up the RCA's for it to sound good.

I want to put in a JL w7 but I don't know which size would be best. I like a lot of bass but I dont use it all the time I like good quality music when I dont want anything hardcore. I have heard of people installing the 8" and it sounding good but the hole is 10" in the rear. Also if I am spending the money I might as well spend the $400 more and get the 13w7. The 13w7 is overkill but I dont think that I will want more once its in. any ideas? Go small/ Fit/ or big (how big)
