Big jump in service interval?

Big jump in service interval?
Or I should say it's a big leap down. We bought our E350 in Sept. 2010 and at the time the service computer stated that it was due for schedule B service in 9900 miles. Between that time and now the car has had 2800 miles put on it and that falls pretty much in line with what the computer said the last time I drove/checked it (it's my wife's car). I think I looked and it said service was due in 6600 which again is pretty much in line with the miles. Anyway tonight my wife came home from the store and she said the computer said to schedule service in 27 days. That doesn't fit with what was seeming to be pretty much spot-on remaining mileage vs. mileage driven (unless the car is assuming we're going to put 6000 mile on this car in a month.
Anyone have any insight why the computer would display such a drastic drop in the service indicator?

Usually all the service falls within the mileage indicator, if oil is changed without any of the other (or some) service items this will happen all the time. I have also noticed that my mileage counter will go down even after sitting for a week without using it (maybe its just in my mind though)

Okay I suppose that makes sense since it was on the dealer lot for a while. I just figured with the computer saying it had 6000+ miles left before service and being only three years old that sometime in that time it would've been done and not be out of its two years schedule. It didn't come with manuals and the dealer got me new ones so I can't go back and see when/if the maintenance schedule had been followed.
