Emergency engine stop instructions with Keyless Go

I don;t ever hope to be in this situation but I wanted to know exactly what to do to cut off the engine in the extremely unlikely event that the brakes and the hand break fails. In a car with a normal ignition key, unless I am mistaken, you are supposed to shift to neutral and coax the car into a shoulder or some place where it can decelerate without hitting anything. Assuming that you need the car to stop sooner, it is my understanding that as a last resort you can turn off the engine so in a car with Key-less go, how can you turn the engine off as a last resort to stop the car in an emergency?

I guess once the engine is shut off you can press the button once so that accessory power is restored via battery.

Can someone who knows about the internals of the car confirm this conclusively? Not something I want to try unless my life depended on it

Would this essentially destroy the transmission/gears?
