Maintenance cost for 2003 E320

Question Maintenance cost for 2003 E320
Hi,

I need help in understanding the maintenance cost involved in owning a 2003 (or 2004 when available) E320. This cost may include regular oil changes, other scheduled service charges. What is the service interval? I currently own an 2002 Acura 3.2TL and the scheduled service interval is 3,750 miles. Oil and filter change costs about $35.

Any other comments in understanding the ownership cost of the car like depreciation, cost of replacement parts, etc. will be highly appreciated.

uh...free?

well, maybe not exactly free. the car does come with free reguarly scheduled maintenance (like oil changes, etc.). the computer keeps track of that but it's roughly an oil change every 7,000 miles, service at 30,000 miles, etc.

if you want to pay for an oil change, it's like $80 since they use synthetic oil and there are like 8 quarts.

Theres an important part about this that the other two left out...its free, under the warranty period (4 years or 50K) after that its on you.

I checked the MB Canada site, and sure enough it isn't free (not that I didnt believe you, just extremely suprised). Can you or anyone else for that matter come to a conclusion as to why Canadian MB's dont have free service and US ones do?

This is getting interesting. I would really like to know why Canadian MBs do not offer the free service.

mwillems, how much does it cost to service E320 in Canada. The service interval is same as in US (about 7,000 miles) or is it a fixed interval?

To clarify other posts: If you are within the warranty period, then all scheduled maintenance is free except "wear and tear" items like brake pads and windshield wipers. BMW includes those items in their service plan. In any event, and as far as I know, the brake pads can be replaced free of charge if there is a problem within the first 12 months only--at least that was what my service rep. told me when I came in for service because of squeaking brakes. They replaced the pads at no charge.

No - there's no freebies here. MB Canada is totally unlike MB USA. No rhyme or reason.

Same as in US - the car decides when. How much? Don't know yet but no doubt it will be many hundreds of dollars.
