brown-ish red fluid??
When I was changing a flat tire i noticed some brown-ish red liquid on the floor. I didn't show up until I jacked up the car. I haven't removed the under-body covers and looked so I was wondering what I should be expecting. I'm guessing it is either power steering or transmission fluid. The brake fluid level is fine so that shouldn't be it. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

Update: HELP!
I removed the underbody panels and cleaned around the transmission. I still don't see where it's leaking from!! I tried putting the car back on level ground and letting it sit. I don't see it leaking. I don't think that it would just stop leaking.
Is there a way to check the fluid level?? How much transmission oil is there in the car? Also, are there any common problem areas that I should look at first? Thanks in advance!

justinrhenry: I had thought the same thing at first, but when I feel it, it is an oily substance. I am going to try and figure out where it's leaking from over the next day or so. Thanks.

FIXED!!
Hello all,
After talking to a few people, I looked and found out it was a transmission connector (part# 2035400253). The repair was not too difficult, just slightly tricky. I will use this link posted by slk230red on benzworld.org for a reference. So thanks slk230red. I didn't use this post when I was doing it. I found it after the fact. I wish I had. haha!!
The repair was pretty similar to slk230red with only a couple of minor differences and observations. This trans-connector is located on the passenger side towards the front of the black transmission pan.
There is a t-30 torx screw (Pic 1 & Pic 2) that needs to be removed. Pull the cover down and it will come out. Then you will see the trans-connector. Turn the connector (using the tab) approx. 90 degrees counterclockwise (Pic 3). It was a little tight so while I was turning the connector, I used my other hand to guide the body harness wiring which made it easier to remove. I did this when I was putting the body harness back as well while turning the tab.
After removing the 7mm hex bolt, the connector comes straight out without too much difficulty. The old one had white o-rings. The new one had black ones.
Putting the new one back in posed a little issue for me. Since the connector tab kept moving I couldn't used that as a guide. So I pushed it lightly and turned it until I felt the groves catch (Pic 4). After the grooves caught, I pushed it in. I was hesitant at first because I didn't want to bend the pins. But with the new o-rings, you kinda have to. I tightened the 7mm hex bolt snugly. Then put the body wiring harness back in and the cover and you are good to go. It probably took me about 25 minutes so it is not too difficult.
I have heard this was a common issue so I hope this helps someone. Thanks.
