Engine Mount
Engine Mount
Hello all,
I changed the transmission mount at around 60K miles. Now my car is about 90K miles. I noticed that my car is not as smooth as it should be. There is some vibration at start up and I can feel and hear (more than normal) the transmission as I drive. I think it is time for the engine mounts.
Here are my questions.
1. What are the signs of the worn engine mounts?
2. Are there only 2 mounts (left/right) to replace, I read some where there is a 3rd one in the back of the engine, is it true?
3. Any recommendation for the brand of the mounts?
Thank you
-Tom

-You know the engine mounts are bad when you start the vehicle and you feel/hear rumbling.
-You can put it on a lift and look at the mounts and most likely there will be a brownish fluid dripping onto your steering rack/subframe
-Buy O.E. , sachs, or bilstein mounts
-The "3rd" mount is the transmission mount you already replaced
