REALLY stupid question time
How the hell is the gas cap wire holder thing supposed to work? I seriously cannot figure it out. I'm like rain man at the fuel pump, definitely definitely goes in there somehow... definitely.
My last car was simple, two notches in the cap and the cap sat on the filler lid. Viola, simple.
I have a diesel if that makes a difference.

I dont have a diesel, but mine looks kind of like that and it only fits one way .. so you can't just shove it in there .. takes a bit getting used to and they could have easily made a simpler design so it would fit in any direction, but its over engineered like most German stuff

I try to use the cap-holder every time I fill up, but no joy ... I end up letting it dangle ... it's plastic, so I guess it can't hurt the finish. I got the cap mounted in the holder one time and was real proud of myself, then it jumped out as if to spite me. Germany's revenge, I guess.
