Question Cruise control

When I set my cruise control the white line of lights around the outside of the speedometer goes from right to left and stops where the speedometer needle is. Seems like to me it should go from zero to the needle. Is this normal?

I've always thought it was this way to highlight the "Out Of Safe Speed Zone" area. What I mean, If you set for 70mph, your safe zone is 0 to 70. If you need to accel beyound 70, say to pass or something, you're above your set safe speed and it's MB's way to remind you of that and to remind you that your on cruise control.

Just a thought? Mark

Mark,

Now that makes perfect sense. Sure would be nice to have a reference that would explain all these features and what they are "intended" to accomplish. You know I read the book from cover to cover and never learned that "key dependant" will not return things to a specific memory setting on the door but returns it to where it was when that key was last used. May be the same but it's nice to know that "key dependant" memory is temporary. Had to have the service manager explain that one to me.
