Cant sync s9 plus with 2006 e350

I've tried and tried and TRIED with no success to sync my s9 plus android to my 2006 e350 mercedes. It's a big headache that I'm wondering what I'm missing or doing wrong. The TEL doesnt show or appear in my dash behind the steering wheel. My phone when the bluetooth is turned on doesnt pick up the car. Some weird numbers show up like 70D312AS......so on and then says when I'm connected the name of the device will appear. Only thing I have in the car with me at the time is my phone. Nothing else with bluetooth. So am I close or what is going on. Someone please help.

Well, one thing you should see is when scrolling through the main menus in your cluster, TEL should be one of them. If not, visit your Mercedes-Benz dealer and request your Instrument Cluster be coded to Telephone/iPod PRESENT.

What is the vin number and do you have the bluetooth puck in the center console? Normally you hit the button to begin the pairing process. Need more details.

If you have the Mercedes Bluetooth puck installed on the connector in your console, press the button to start the blue light flashing.

the little bitty button is the release to remove button ... you want the other one

go to your phone to Bluetooth pairing and find something like MB phone

the password is mbusa.

if you don’t have the puck, you have to get one.

if you don’t have the connector for the puck, you need a phone installation completer kit

the pairing process has nothing to do with you car’s dash display or the comand screen ... until after you’re paired

He sells kits that have evrything you need to install (including instructions with photos:-) Plus he gives assume support via phone or eMail. He helped me navigate through my installation. The above kit includes VCS but the guys flexible so if you don't need that he can send you a cheaper kit (i.e without VCS).
Hi all
My husband got me the E350 2006. There is no cradle and also when I press the Telephone button, its says Tel. Nothing else on screen. Is the iTronic BT the best way to go? I am really not that car tech savvy but I can try with some insructions.
The links above do not work anymore.
I have the same scenario as TMDore
thanks in advance
Clarissa

This is one of the many solutions that could work. Inside your glovebox (center, top) is an aux in port. The aux out cable of this kit plugs into there. Power it via the cigarette lighter or hardwire in and pair your phone. Selecting the AUX function on the head unit will allow this setup to function as handsfree phone and stream music. The only real downside is that you won't be using the headunit for input or control, and you need to select AUX each time you want to talk handsfree, if it's not already selected.

THANK YOU SO MUCH Kjb55 for your reply. I will order as you recommend. Will double check on the AUX as you suggested in the glove compartment.

You can't. The bluetooth only did voice, not audio. You would need to use either the aux input in the glove compartment or use the ipod connector that might be in there. I still use a 4th gen ipod touch and use spotify and sync the ipod via wifi to get the latest playlists downloaded to the ipod. Or just use Sirius, usually they run some kind of promotion where you can get them down to as low as $5-$6/month instead of the normal $20/month. You have to threaten to cancel unless they can get down to that level and not take it when they make an intermediate offer of $100/year.
