I agree with you about the cost of this. This module drops your car more then a inch. As for ball joint damage you can still raise the the while driving useing the raise button by the shifter gose back the stock height . so when your driving on a bad road raise the car and your safe ....

That car needs WAY more than a detail.
From the looks of it, a 3-4 step paint correction is in order.
Great job on the lowering module. The cleanest solution, by far, for these cars.

I asked about the detailing due to the condition of your paint. +1 on what Benz-O-Rama says. I'd worry about the paint more than installing a lowering module or anything else.
You need to spend time on getting a professional to regularly detail and maintain your car's paint.

The paint on my SL600 looked like that when I bought it. The previous owner never drove the thing, but everytime he did, it was to a tunnel car wash. It's amazing that people still take their cars to these car washes. The damage that is done to the clear coat, is amazing. Unfortunately, black is the hardest color to keep scratch and swirl free.
That said, until I was educated on paint correction, and causes of the damage, I used to visit the tunnel washes once a week too.
I gave my SL to my detailer for almost a week. Took about 30 hours I think, can't remember. But, that was for 100% correction. I've never seen such a turn around in my life. Check my posts, it's in here somewhere. He did a big write-up on autopia.org on it too.

What a bunch of punks.
I know this is an old thread and I've been trolling a while looking for info on the lomo controller. The reason I joined is because you guys are a bunch of pompous punks that need some serious correction in manners. Guy gets on excited to talk about his new mod and all of the rest of you rip on his detailing and the cost of the mod compared to the cost of his car. Who cares!!! It's his car he can spend what ever he likes, and if his detail is not up to your snuff.... Shut it and move on. I get so sick of looking for info and just find a bunch of know it all's ripping on everyone that comes on here looking for help. You call this a community?? Not!! So far all I've seen is a bunch of guy's with serious self esteem issues!! The only answer anyone ever has to an issue is "do a search through the threads". In other words... I have no clue so I'll just act like I know...
