Just bought a '04 E320 Wagon - SAT questions
Hi there,
I will be leaving in a few days to go pick up my new '04 E320 Wagon. I buying it from a non-MB dealer, but already scheduled my appt at a MB dealer in the same city for review and maybe perform a service on it.
The stereo headunit has a "SAT" button - does that mean that the satellite antenna is pre-wired? I am about to make a 1,100 mile trip back home and I am going to want to get that activated
. I don't think there will be a manual in the car - does anyone know the process of obtaining the unit's code and what telephone number to call to get it activated?
Thanks!

Actually, just came across anothe thread that suggested that because the headunit has the SAT function, that doesn't mean that the sat radio antenna and associated wiring is there. I guess I will find out when it goes to the MB dealer.

You will need to be in the car and turn on the radio to XM/SR to get the code in order to activate it.

My Sedan has the ugly Sat antenna mounted on the trunk lid. Not sure where the wagon antenna would be located for that year. I have two antennas; one on the roof also for the NAV. (unless I have those antennas mixed up).

It's antenna wiring PLUS the receiver PLUS the wiring harness for the receiver, etc.
You can't find a COMAND unit (USA) without the SAT button and the unit does have the capability to switch to SAT and display what the SAT receiver tells it to display, but that's about it.
If you pay $18 for a 24-hr subscription to Startekinfo you can look in group 82 for Sirius installation instructions. After you've found them you can probabaly go on to download the equivilent of a complete service manual for your car.
