If you had a Base Salary of 21k per year Single, No Children, and run a average sized three bedroom house. Would you or have you chosen to own and 2003 -05 w211. Just need help deciding.
I really love the w211, convinced my father to get an 04
. Through this Forum and others i basically no the inside and out of them.

The price of gas can sneak up on you, esp if you are doing E500+... same with maintenance, as most indies will charge 1k for pads/rotors front and back, when it only costs 450 in parts..
So yes, if you budget good, and you are prepared with contingencies incase things go crazy fast, or if you like to live on the edge, sure - go for it! (I did...
) But I really watch the gas because the gas can eat you alive.

Maintenance is also something you have to think about.
I say take that money and buy a new reliable car for the same amount. Over 4yr period of ownership it will be cheaper than buying a used E500.

it's really a matter of what you have left after your other expenses, <$2k gross won't leave much room. If your dad will help with any car purchase, I'd tell you to get a good japanese car with decent MPG and low maintenance. Buy the MB down the road.

I have serious doubts.
My retirement plans total over $45,000 after taxes, and I'm beginning to wonder if we can afford to keep my wife's '06 E500 wagon once the warranty expires in Jan. 2012.
