Hello everyone,you have a very nice board here and Im proud to be a part of it.
I have always hated Lorinser packages,they never did anything for me,always too guady and "bling bling thuggish" for me like alot of you say, hehe.Early this year I went into my local dealer that I have dealt with for many years(I currently drive a 2000 E430 Sport 18" AMG Monoblocks) and wanted to see the new E. I was not too impressed with the plain jane models and the sport package had alot to be desired,not as aggressive as the old one.He did tell me they started working with CEC and would have an E500 Lorinser in the showroom shortly.I returned the next week and was blown away.Silver E500 with 19' RS6 rims. The car was HOT,it did not have the cut outs on the front fenders which I have seen and hate.It looked very classy and made the regular E's look unfinished.I brought 2 friends who also hate Lorinser and they agreed with me,they felt Lor actually made a decent kit for the first time.These are both conservative guys,so I knew this wasnt a fluke.

I decided to go for it and ordered an e500 fully loaded in white(no panorama,it looks ugly on white) on charcoal.I feel the white will look really nice with chrome 19's preferably the LM5 2 piece(i have 2 weeks to decide,the car is on its way to the states now).I would like any opinions on rims for this car,chrome or polished and what you think about the white,instead of the usual silver of which I had 3 in a row and needed a change.

I have read alot of posts about the Lorinser package and most of it is negative.But I believe pictures do it no justice.In person,I really liked the car and know I will be happy with the final results when mine arrives.It looks aggresive and beefy,a benz on steroids.If you want the "ghetto rocket" look I guess add the cutout fenders,the roof spoiler,the 3 star grill etc,then I believe you have a crap kit.I went minimal,....front,rear,side skirts,rear decklid spoiler and exhaust.Add the 19's and not too dark tint and I think I made the right choice.Please add your comments,thank you.........

I'm not crazy about all the Lorinser body parts but I did see at the MB dealer the other day an '04 E Series in Brilliant Silver with the Lorinser RS6 wheels in silver and man, that was one of the best looking cars I've ever seen!!!

if you get the full lorinser kit, meaning the fenders, roof spoiler, and trunk spoiler with exhaust, oh man it looks awsome.

Avoid Lorinser at all cost!! They make bodykit only made for the show off. I have seen a lot of them and they simply all destroy the MB natural class.

I agree with you E500Lorinser about the Lorinser Aero Kits. They 'usually' look awful. However, I am always curious of why some call Lorinser kits "Ghetto". I have read & heard this many times. Why do people use the word Ghetto which for many conjure up thoughts of ethnicity when the word to use maybe just plain old "GUADY" or "GARISH".

Maybe I am analyzing this too much, but in the U.S. the term/slang 'ghetto' usually refers to something related to or appealing to or characterized by the poor ignorant underclass of society with certain ethnic backgrounds.

Since Lorinser is a German company I would doubt very much if their product managers & designers are anywhere from the U.S. Ghettos, are poor, ignorant nor underclass. I also doubt that the design studio of Lorinser has anyone working there that meets the criteria of U.S. minorities nor would they be purposely making products which would solely appeal to the lowest rung of the U.S. society. Yes the Lorinser kits are usually atrocious and yes they are really overdone, but it they are Ghetto then so is everything ever shown on Robin Leach's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" - which always aired some really 'overdone stuff' of people very far removed from any U.S. Ghettos. All this is just some food for thought. Don't mind me - I think too much.

NOW BACK TO THE SUBJECT AT HAND:

Since you really want a more appealing/aggressive E-Class and you have the AMG kit on your E430, stick with the AMG complete body kit found on the E55. The E55 Kit is the best looking kit, not too guady, I mean Ghetto, and is more performance looking rather than show car looking like the Lorinser products.

I knew I would get various views.So what the verdict on rim choice,chrome or polished? On white and black along with a few other colors I believe chrome works excellent.On a silver car,the polished looks the best in my opinion.Just looking for different views.

E55 KEV I understand your comments on the "ghetto" look.And your right,Lor is a German company and they have no idea about this when they design their kits.I guess what the statement means is that in certain areas and yes certain ethnicities,they take the looks of a car and go to the extreme.Its not a racist statement whatsoever,we have all seen it,and to each his own..It goes with everything,especially in the hip hop world.Clothes,cars,you name it.Extreme is the name of the game.I don't like it at all,and it gets very cheesy quickly.I don't know why it is,but it IS the way it is.Personally, I'm not into all that whatsoever.Im an Italian guy from Brooklyn that likes "just enough" on his cars,and my friends are the same way.Rims,tint,a clean/plain license plate frame and thats it.Thats why I was so suprised that I actually liked the kit enough to order the car.I feel that its not overdone at all.In the past you couldn't give me Lorinser for free,I hated it that much.They got it right this time......

This also comes to mind. The upcoming $300k Maybach is for the ultra-rich and that car will more than likely mainly be owned by the show-off, guady, garish Hip-Hop crowd. They have placed the majority of the orders I believe. Maybe old money buys the new Rolls Royce and new money will be buying the Maybach.

Once those Maybach's hit the Hip-Hop crowd they will adorn them with 24" Spinning chrome & gold plated wheels and fur interiors!

What about the AMG kit? I think it will be more understated and appealing in the long run. The AMG kit will resale more quickly than the Lorinser.

Chrome Wheels are nice, but I like them best on dark colored cars like Black and Red. Since I am referrig AMG stuff, how about the Double Spoke 2 Piece in 19":

I think Polished Silver is best on White. Leave Chrome for dark colors. the RS6 wheel do have thin spokes, so you may get away with chrome, but my vote would be polished silver. Also, are you sure you want 19". The ride will be too harsh IMO.

I ended up going with AMG Style IV (like the new E55) with 18x8 front, 18x9 rear. Tires, Pirelli Rosso 245/40 fr and 275/35 rear.

All this talk is making me nuts.I have taken looks at the new AMG kit and I have to say it is more subtle yet aggressive.I called my dealer to get an idea what this would cost(kit,exhaust,19's) and he will get back to me.The car will be here shortly and since it has to be sent out to CEC, I can still change my mind on the kit.Please tell me what kind of prices are to be expected.The Lor kit with rims is almost 15k,alot I know but I do crazy things sometimes.Im thinkin the AMG will be less since there is no middleman besides the dealer.Please give me ideas,your driving me crazy but,your definetly helping.Thanks guys...............

The dealer would charged an "arm and a leg" to do that AMG conversion. $15k for the Lorinser is too high.

I know a AMG rep from CEC East who can install the entire package for about $12k. Yes thats right, $12k This includes 19X8.5 front and 19X9.5 rear 'Chrome' wheels I pictured above, full body kit with painting and installation and also, sit down for this includes the installation of the AMG Sport exhaust. Bad news this does not include the tires nor the install of the AMG trunk badge which is $41. So factor in the cost of those items.

Just think the price would be less if you opted for the 19" wheels in Silver or if you got the 18" 1 piece Double Spoke wheels or get a non-staggered setup.

I ribbed you earlier on those Ghetto comments, but now I am your new best friend - pointing you in the right direction and saving you some money.

Ok,if your willing to really kick my *** in the right direction,please email me the info.CEC east is located in Teterboro NJ,exactly where my dealer sends his cars to be done.If this is the same place your talking about,and you can connect me to the right person,I am more then willing to tell my dealer to do the AMG kit instead of the Lor.I want the front,rear,sides and exhaust.The rims must be 19's staggered preferably chrome.Im not worried about tires,an extra grand should do it.I will show this to my dealer and since this will be a lease,it will be written into the deal just like the Lor kit was.I know he will make money on it,but it will almost definetly be less then what he would make on the Lor package and less cost for me.Please email me at JuicedBenz@aol.com or I guess you can put the info here,I don't think its a big secret,hehe.Yes your my new best friend,and if all this works out,I promise I will buy you a drink,and maybe a few lap dances,girl of your choice,hehe.Thanks so much brother.........

I posed this question to E55KEV in email and would like some thoughts from the rest of you.I was told that many people will say if I get the AMG kit,that i will have a "wannabe e55" My argument is that this body kit is available in Europe now on e500's and will most likely be available in the states for the 2004's. I figure I get a head start and will have a totally unique look for awhile until the kits pop up everywhere next year.Its not like Im going to put e55 badges all over the car.Its a white e500 with an AMG kit and 19in AMG's.Am I right or wrong on this one???Plus I save some cash.

On the other hand if I do go with the Lorinser package it will be very unique,especially in white,and will get alot of looks.Damn you guys,haha,your making me very confused!!!!!

If you like to do crazy things once in a while why don't you just order the new E55. The cost of the kit willl push you right in the teritory of the new E55 or pretty close by. Here in Brooklyn NY I went to the Sovereign Motors dealer and they also have an e500 with Lorinser full kit but for me it was over the top. AMG kit is much better to my taste.

Your right the e55 is the choice to make,but I was told the wait was until August/September on an April order.As for leasing it,the numbers from Sovereign were in the $14-$1500 range per month with all taxes upfront+first and last payment.The e500 with either the Lor or AMG kit 19'in rims is under 1100.(the kit cannot be residualized)So if we do the math,we are looking at a big difference and we havent factored insurance in yet,which in Brooklyn is ALOT on an e55,and less on an e500.Do I want the e55?yesssss Am I willing to pay $2000 a month including insurance?NOOO So now you see why I started this thread,and why Im having this serious brain hemmorage over the choices I need to make,lol.Good to know there is a fellow Brooklyn guy here......

I really like the Rear Roof and Trunk Spoiler from Lorniser. Checked their site but no individual pricing. Anyone know how much and where I can order these two? I assume that these would arrive painted-mine is Tectite Grey.

other than your choice of wheels and tires (keep the stock ones in the garage), I would either go AMG body kit or stay stock - thinking about resale or trade-in.
