04 E500 Interior lights trouble
Hey there, new around here but lately I have been noticing that my interior lights would be on by itself. Car has been sitting for 24 hours and all of a sudden interior lights would be on. Now, this triggered my Battery Protection Conv. Malfunction message to appear. Did anybody experienced this problem with their car?

Checked it out myself and it is bone dry. I swapped the front battery with my Ducati battery, cleaned the terminals, the tightened them back up. Rear battery seems ok visually and no loose connections.

Is it the Dome Light?
Had the same problem (still have the same problem) Dealer could not reproduce since I've owned the car under warranty.
Killed my battery at an airport parking garage (8 years ago)...got new battery from road side assist under warranty.
Only fix I have found was to keep the headlights out of Auto and use Manually which should (for some reason) turn off the interior light.
Not fun! But try it.

My alarm is going off by itself too.
Recently the alarm system in my W211 E500 has been going off randomly. It seems to be a speaker above the front left wheel well. It will go off when I am driving and parked. Its annoying. I called MB dealership they said It is probably fried circut and I could either rip the whole thing out by uninstalling the front left wheel to access; or to get a replacement for 300$. I dont really think I want to mess with installing a new, delicate electrical system. Rather just rip it out.

Hi, guys, 2003 E500 front Dome light, doors bottom lights, only flashing every 10 seconds when i turn engine off or opening the door !!!! also the sunroof button sometimes works and sometimes not !!! any ideas ?? some one told me the problem is with the Control unit that is inside the front Dome light and i need to change hole part to get it fixed, is that correct ?

I would guess a bit of corrosion on the door switch. (or one of our many controllers has gone bonkers.)
