2005 E500 sport
Oil Change
So, I can't remember for the life of me when was the last time I did an oil change, however, it says service G in 4100 miles. Is it necessary to change the oil now, or can I wait til the service?

In that case I would without a doubt change the oil, it wouldn't hurt obviously! Or take a test and see how dirty it is.

Its a fun little Sunday DIY

If you did the last oil change with approved oils AND Filters then I would change when the FSS indicates it should be done.

My E500 has 108,000 miles and I have been following the FSS since new but I use only MB parts and lubricants.
