Mobil 1 oil and filter deal at Autozone
Just bought 2x 5qts Mobil 1 0W-40 and a Mobil 1 oil filter for $32.99 + tax (~$36). Best that I could find locally. Figured with the high quality filter it wasn't that bad of deal. Filter value limited to $12.99; MB filter $19.99, though not in stock. I ended up just getting filters for my Toyota; oil for my E500.
I've heard of Mobil 1 deals where it's about $5/qt, but kinda hard to find 0w-40 around here.
Wish Autozone was a participating retailer with Mobil, cuz there's a $12/$15 rebate in effect now.
What do you pay for Mobil 1 0W-40?

About one month ago I got my first five quarts of M1 0w-40 for $3.69 each. Mills Fleet Farm (a Mobil rebate participant) had it on sale for $5.69 and then the rebate was for $2 off / quart, for up to five quarts. $5.69 / quart after that still wasn't too bad.

I try to wait for those 5 quart mobil 1 + filter for 30 deals and just get filter for another car. If that doesn't work, Walmart has a single quart for 6.39? (about that) which is still cheaper than buying it at kraigan/oreily/autozone/pepboy/napa/whatever i missed

I usually buy from Walmart, but I haven't seen the 0W-40 available...but then again, I usually am looking for the gallon jugs so hadn't noticed the quart availability.

My Autozone didn't stock the Mobil 1 0W-40 in the 5-quart jug either. They did have the Mobil 1 5-quart jugs in 0W-20 for my wife's Mazda. So I saved over $20 versus quart bottles so thanks for the heads up.

was just at Walmart today and did see the 0W-40 in quart sizes for about ~$6.39.
There are no 0W-40 5 qt jugs available, per:

Advance Autp Parts
Advance Auto Parts runs up to 40% off on-line order/store pickup deals all the time (I just did a $30 off a $75 purchase myself). (Check their coupons at TechBargains.COM.)
This used to include (last year) oil, so I loaded up then on Mobil 1 0W40 Euro Formula (have at least 24 quarts sitting in the garage and only one MB to feed it to).
I see that they sell the 0W40 now for an obscene $8.69, so the 40% off would put it at just over $5 a quart, about what it should be.
Worth checking to see if the coupons works on oil, again.

Huh?
Wait a minute...
You bought 2 x 5 = 10 quarts of Mobile 1 0w40 Euro plus a Molil 1 filter all for $32.99 plus tax???
That's $3.29 a quart and a free filter.
That's less than Wal-Mart house brand synthetic costs in 5 quart jugs.
Huh? There a typo here?

sorry, meant to say 5 qts plus filter for ~$36 after tax.
with regards to Advance Auto, I've wanted to buy oils from them in the past, but they just don't ship liquids to CA.

Hey fellas,
Check out Napa! $4.99/qt for Mobil 1 and it includes 229.1 spec oil 0w-40 and it doesn't require that you buy an oil filter or a minimum quantity or fill out a lame rebate form.
Deal only valid for month of June though.

check out https://www.napaonline.com/
I think it's nationwide but I know my local Napa store on Convoy St. in San Diego is offering it, since I just bought 16 qts from them.

Called a local Napa store and they said it's dependent on whether it's corporate owned or a franchise; franchise doesn't have the deal. Thanks!

Bummer - Well you can always have a local store that does carry it price match with Napa. I think O'reilly does that. Or better yet, I've seen Wal-Mart commercials recently that push the price match marketing gimmick too.

Found a Napa franchise store that had the deal. Picked up 18qts.
Gonna return the oil/filter from Autozone.
Attached is the flyer from NAPA.

Will definitely need to check this out and stock up. That's the lowest price I've seen for 0w-40 without a rebate. Thanks for the heads up

The Mobil 1 0W40 is MB Spec 229.5 which is approved for all current MB with the exception of 2007 model year and later diesels which need MB Spec 229.51 because of the Diesel Particulate Filter.

No but you should use a MB approved oil. Go to this link ( http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevoli...ets-sort1.html ) and look for MB Spec 229.5 or MB Spec 229.51 for 2007 and later models diesels.
