Intake and ecu question

Heyy guys how u doin....im new to this forum since i just piked up a 2003 E500....i want to do some performance upgrades and was thinking about an intake if its possible and a cpu chip....if anyone has any suggestions or can help me out please chime in...thanx guys

Hi, I believe ECUs for our cars provide only minimal gains, and are not worth the $$... same with the intake. I would just bang out the 2 air filters and call it a day

for starters, evosport makes a pulley kit for the 3 valve engines (such as E320, E500) and you could get a performance chip.

i think kleemann still makes headers for the 500 engines, but those would be pricey.

I just replaced my filters and felt the difference right away....i am going to heat wrap the intake tubes also this week

Bang out the filters means you take the hold one out, and dump out the dirt and rocks or what have you, and then bang them along a wood or metal wall area, or even the floor, to dust out the air filter - similar to how you'd shake out a rug by smacking it against a post...

Be gentle, you don't want to break anything... of course this is the poor mans way...

I'm due for pulleys too, I will investigate the EVOSPort ones....
