Hello guys... I'm considering to get some new rims when my E500 Sports gets here...
I see that the 2003 E55 AMG comes with 18x8 Front and 18x9 Rear rims with 245/40/18 Front and 265/35/18 Rear tires...
I'm thinking of getting those rims with 245/40/18 Front and 275/35/18 Rear tires...
My question is, if I get larger rear tires, would it affect anything negatively? Would they rub?
I'm also considering the Brabus Monoblock VI Single Piece 18x8.5 Front and 18x9.5 Rear rims.
I'm a newbie to cars... and it'd be very helpful if someone can tell me what exactly those 8, 9, 8.5, 9.5 all means... and if I do go with the Brabus (18x8.5, 18x9.5), what size tires should I get for no rubbing?
I have a few more questions about rims... what does offset mean and what effects does it have? Another question is, what brand/model tires are good? I'm thinking of Pirelli P Zero Rosso Asymmetrical tires.. but if anyone have any recommendations on good tires (good performance, good tread life, good looking) please feel free to leave replies...

If anyone know a site/shop to buy authentic W211 E55 AMG style AMG aero bodykit, and AMG/Brabus rims for cheap, please tell me.

Here's a hi-lite..... 18x 8, 8.5, 9.... etc is the wheel's width. 18 x 8 to 9 front and 18x9 to 10 rear will work on the "E". Tire size's up to 245 front and 275 rear will work with NO rubbing. I even read where someone went to 285 on the rear. Offset, e.g., et30 or et39 is the distance the hub (it's inside face) of the wheel is from the center line of the wheel. Let's take a 18x8" wheel with a et30 offset as an example. The center line of the wheel is 4" (i.e., 8"/2) An et30 inside hub face is offset 30mm from the center line (i.e., 4") toward the outside. Therefore, the larger the offset, the more the wheel is "pushed" in towards the car. One of the negative things I'm aware of with wider sizes in the rear vs. the front is you can't rotate. Also, cost more, etc.

I also went with Pirelli PZero Rosso's based on Luke's recommendation. I was looking for performance, but also had high requirements for low noise and good ride. Rosso's seem to fit the "bill" the best. Best cost, I bought my AMG Style IV wheels from Tire Rack and their cost was $50 to $60 lower per wheel than anyone else. Don't know where you can get good Brabus deals.

an E class can fit 20 inch rims... 18s are definately too small and wont rub. if you install the rims correctly, even 20 inch rims wont rub. brabus monoblock VI are really nice.....but 2 piece is definately much cooler

 

Yea dont go for 18 at least 19 but even better 20. I have 19 inch rims and i was regret for not buying 20. so go for 20 man.

 

yea and if youre really hardcore you would put on some 21s!!

 

Is the new e really fit for 21? is there people who put 21 inch with their new car? I would love to see it?

 

i think if you want it to fit you could make it fit.... i dont think anyone will do it though.... 20s on an e class even looks small. my friend has 20 dronell classics on his e class and it looks like it could go an inch bigger.... id go with 21 inch dronell d-09 diamond cut
