Bluetooth A2DP for 2009 E-Class
I have looked extensively for an answer online but have not found one, so here goes:
For the 2009 E-Class, I know that I can setup my iPhone 4 to make calls via Bluetooth, and I have an iPod adapter cable in the glovebox (Media Interface). However, I am looking to stream music from my iPhone to the stereo wirelessly without restricting my phone to the glovebox. It would be nice to control the music from the iPhone itself because the interface is much easier to use than the COMMAND interface. Also, that way, I can use the other features of my iPhone as well.
Is there some sort of firmware update for the car such that Bluetooth A2DP/stereo streaming can be enabled? Has anyone gotten this to work for their 2009 E-Class? (without spending hundreds of dollars on some "feature") I believe this is a software issue for the car because Bluetooth phone calls works just fine. Or will I have to buy a Cartronics Bluetooth device/adapter to get Bluetooth stereo streaming? The people I have spoken to at the dealership seem to not be so knowledgable on the issue themselves either.
Any definitive responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
