Thank you for the respond, went to one of the local MBZ dealers and they indicated the price for the up date $ 798.00, I mentioned to them, that I am not trying to purchase the entire APS head unit, just the update disk. But as always they could not help me.
Any chance you may know where I can find the downloadable information?

I would pay the $12 no problem, they guy pulled the number from his computer. If you can get the disk for me or provide me with local dealer number I will gladly pay for it.

Here's a link for the Nav Processor update @ $15.00 : Click Here
Interestingly, the discounted price for the Command update is $570, at the same site. What the heck is going on with that disc??

I just purchased a 2008 E350 (production date 08/2007). I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the navigation system. (When I try to enter a street name, it grays out many letters along the way, preventing me from entering the full street name - some streets I want to look for are as old as sin, so no way they weren't on a 2006 map).
I checked the DVD in the trunk and it's v. 2006.2 (which I assume it's severely outdated). I contacted my local Indy and they can get me the latest one for $250. However, they said for any updates to the COMAND unit, it can only be done by the dealer.
I'd hate to invest that kind of money into it and ultimately end up installing an aftermarket navigation head unit if I can't learn to use it efficiently. In order to decide that, I was wondering if you guys can explain to me:
1) significant improvement in the 2015 nav DVD vs. my 2006 version?
2) What will the Nav processor update do for my system?
3) What benefit is there to gain doing a COMAND update? and
4) Can any of this be obtained in a more cost-effective manner?
Thanks in advance.
[EDIT: VIN decoder says I have COMAND DVD APS USA with navigation - code 530]

I realize it's several years later now...
I'm in the process of retrofitting OEM nav to my 2005 E320, my headunit SW version is 10.270, not sure what my nav unit SW version is as I haven't finished hooking it up yet, but I need to know how I can bring both up to date as much as possible and be able to use the most recent maps from 2016. I have seen several discs on eBay but before I buy I wanted to check with y'all. Thanks!

New Used E-350 - want to upgrade
Hi all,
I am new around here and have done a bit of reading on how to upgrade my NTG1 navigation system.
Certainly glad to see the level of support around here from our fellow MB owners.
My MB dealer's service advisor seems not to have a clue on the topic of upgrading either the Navigation DVD nor the head unit for my model year.
I see a lot of eBay listings for the latest firmware (head unit) and navigation (DVD in the trunk) DVDs/CDs for W211.
They all seem to be "Backups from original". Are these a scam? Pirated?
Where can I find legitimate copies of the map DVD as well the firmware upgrade?
My vehicle is a E-350, 2008 (Wagon).
Thanks
