Power for Radar Detector - Fuse Box?

I have a Passport 8500 that I'm looking to move over to my '06 E500. Where is a good place to tap power from? Is there a fuse box inside the car? I know there's one under the hood but that's obviously not convenient.

Any suggestions on where I should plug in the detector inside the car?
Thanks in advance!

I tapped a fuse in the fusebox on the driver's side of the dash. I have the detector mounted low on the windshield, just above the dash in the center, so the wire is hidden under the font edge of the dash all the way around to the side. It was a little tough squeezing it around the A-pillar, but it looks clean now.

Interesting. Where is this fusebox? I took a quick look but couldn't find one inside the car.

Open the driver's side door and look at the end of the dash that gets covered up by the door when it's closed. There's a door there you pry off and fuses behind it. The door is a little flimsy, so be careful.

Question Radar in new C350

Just picked up my new C350 coupe. I have an Escort 8500 x50 which was easily wired in my previous car (Infinity G37) via the plug on the rear view mirror. No such luck with the Merc. There is no access on the mirror nor is there a passenger compartment fuse box. Any ideas on how to connect it (aside from using the cigarette lighter plug):
