Turn off COMAND screen?
I'm guessing the answer is no, but here we go anyway:
Is there any way to turn off the COMAND screen while still being able to listen to audio/use the phone? Even at its lowest setting, the screen can be distractingly bright when I'm driving at night. It's really nice driving at night without a lot of internal light (Used to love the "Black Panel" setting on my Saab for this) but I like having the audio too.
I can do this on my Lincoln, but haven't found a way to make it happen on my Merc. It's possible I'm missing something obvious, but I doubt it. Anybody else have ideas that don't involve a soldering iron and/or hammer?

Maybe your screen is locked on the daytime (Black ON White) as opposed to automatically switching to the night time illumination White ON Black)? If the background on your screen is white, its in daytime mode, and would be garishly bright at night.

Thanks, but I've got that one figured out. I've got it switching ti "night" automatically and have the brightness turned all the way down on that setting. But when I'm driving out where there's no outside light I like to have the interior lights off or down as low as possible. The COMAND screen, even on its lowest setting in night mode, is still the brightest light in the car.
On the wife's car (the Lincoln MKX) there's a setting that completely turns off the screen without turning off the whole Nav/audio unit. I was looking for something similar here.
