Command system locked up/Muted? Replace or software update?
My Command system has the icon on the screen that basically muted. Command system still works, but no sound coming from speakers. I press the mute button, and has tried everything including turning the volume knob at the way up.
I brought it into the dealership, and they're saying either software needs to be updated which will cost $250, or the command system will need to be replace that will run at least $1000.00
Has anyone came across this similar issue? Is there a cheaper way to update my navi, instead of $250 for dealership to do this?

Could be less expensive to unplug the mute lead from the AGW (or the radio if the car has got an Audio 20 CD head unit).
Has it had any after market HF kit installed?
If the head unit is COMAND NTG1, the SW cannot be updated with diagnosis tools, instead a simple service CD is used.
