HELP!!! STUCK REMOVING STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

Hi, All,

I'm completely stuck trying to replace the steering angle sensor on my 2007 E350 4Matic. I have removed the steering wheel, but the steering angle sensor itself has a long stepped sort of plug/prongs at the bottom, which go into the column. I've removed all the Torx screws for the black disc mechanism which is underneath the SAS, but it won't budge. I am stuck now, as I can't remove and replace the old SAS.

What am I doing wrong? Take a look at the picture below to see what I'm talking about. All I want to do is replace the SAS.

Thanks!

In my 2003 e500, the clockspring looks different. The top part has three holes and spins to show three screws to remove. Once i remove those screws, the whole thing should pull/pry out gently with a flat screw driver from behind. Focus on the prongs and apply gentle pressure there.
