Question Best replacement wiper blades?

What are other people using? I've been using trico neoform beam blades for years and they're awesome. Anyway, before I go out and buy more neoforms, was wondering if there was anything brand new out there that are notable? I gotta buy new wipers for all 4 vehicles before winter!!

I replaced the factory blades with Bosch Icon's. Great blade, but pricey. If you have to replace the wiper blades on 4 vehicles, compare the prices between the Bosch's and the Trico's. Every once in a while, I see the local auto part stores putting the Bosch's on "buy one get one" sale.

I was going to go with the Icon's as well as I've used Bosch in the past with great success, but they did not have my size in stock. I went with the Rain-X Latitude's. They were about 3 dollars less than the Icon's, so cost wouldn't have been a make or break thing, but they did have a nice rebate at the register. They had a Rain-X Repel line that was even more than the Icon, but it didn't get very good reviews... Still, I'd go with the Icon's if they had them, though I'm very happy with the Latitudes.

Thanks guys! I actually started with latitudes a few years back but the contact was poor. Switched to icons and liked them but they were expensive. Switched from icons to neoforms and haven't switched since. I really like them but wanted to know if there's any brand new options in the last year. So far it sounds like the same options as the last few years. I'm going to wait a week or so longer, but at this point I'm still swaying towards the neoforms again. We'll see...

I've been happy with Valeo Gen2 SL26...they seem to be lasting longer while performing quite well.

I put the PIAA wipers on my Evo and love them. Will also put them on the Benz when it's time.

Amazon...they have a "confirm it fits" drop down....you can just search for wipers, go through the car data they seek, and they offer choices. I did just find that Valeo has a new 900 series Ultimate wiper, and I just ordered two at $38.46/pair to try them. Copy, paste, and search:

Valeo 900-26-5B Ultimate Wiper Blade - 26"

However, the proper fit may vary by model year, so check carefully.

Thanks! Are these better than the top of the line Bosch wipers? The recommended interval of replacement is one year? If so it is time for me to replace mine...

PS to Jeff:

I really do prefer the older image of the St. Pauli Girl -- much more authentic looking (if you've ever been in a real German bar, you'll know what I mean); I think that a few years ago some Hollywood gremlins got into the artists' minds. Alas, they did the same sort of updating to Betty Crocker when I was a kid 55 years ago.

The Valeo Gen 2 were superior to the OE Bosch. I don't have any comparisons beyond that, although as pleased as I was with Gen 2, I am interested to see how the new Valeo 900 Ultimate performs, especially at that pricing.

I just changed out the rubber blade n not the whole arm. The arm was never meant to be replaced, it just the rubber blade which cost less than half of the full replacement of both arm n blade

Maybe we should clarify terms....there are three major parts, the rubber blade, the equally long frame which holds the rubber blade, and the wiping arm onto which the frame attaches at the pivot point and is essentially part of the car. I think we are all replacing the rubber blade and frame, but no one is suggesting doing anything with the arms...true?

Time is money and patience is a virtue...lol. I just replace the whole wiper blade (blade and frame = wiper blade / just the rubber edge is called a wiper refill insert). With wisconsin winters, replacing the whole wiper blade makes the most sense since the ice and snow is pretty abusive to them and puts a lot of stress on everything. BTW, it takes less than 1 minute to swap out the entire wiper blades due to the ease of attachments.

I just wipers123.com and order for all 4 of my vehicles every year in November. Discovered the place looking for a rear wiper and then started buying all of them there.

You should see the photoshopped image I have with a little modification to the chest area!! LOL

Restating what I state above:

Wiper Blade = Blade and Frame
Wiper Refill Insert = Rubber blade only (requires time and mechanical skill)
Wiper Arm = From spindle to wiper blade

Bosch Icons

I installed the Icons this weekend. We got rain this afternoon. I like the wipers, but I do not like the big plastic bracketry they have vs. the OEMs. The OEMs are a much neater fit. What do you guys think that are running the Icons vs. the OEMs in relation to the plastic brackets?

Its been raining down here in "sunny Florida" & I got really tired of the last two dealer installed OEM MB wiper blades (apparently OEM anyway) farting their way across the windshield unless the rain was at the exact, precise volume & timing for the racket to subside. (NEVER in 4 years have any of my OEM wipers juddered, but they were all bought at my Long Island dealership over the years before I moved. Maybe this FL dealership chain is specifying a cheaper product and repackaging it ???)

I ordered a pair of Trico 16-2612 Neoform w/ Teflon from Amazon.com for $31.08 for the pair ...N/C for shipping, & slipped them on & took a quick ride in the same rain.... all is quiet.

They definitely are not as heavy as the OEM blades as they have a lightweight plastic spine & to me it looks like there is less rubber height on the squeegee, but who knows. They're quiet, cheap, install the same way as OEM & ship fast from Amazon... will advise how they stand up to the sun & heat.

I just replaced mine over the weekend with Bosch Aerotwin blades. The blades are extremely easy to install. Took a whopping 3 minutes from start to finish. Paid approx $40 for the pair.

I get my neoforms at wipers123 but I think you'll find you like them. That said, if your car is in the direct sunlight a lot of the time - nothing's going to save the rubber on any wiper. Anyway, I think you'll like them a lot.

Also MPH 350SDL also mentioned the brackets on the icons. I think they're huge too (same thing with the rainx brackets). On the aformentioned neoforms, they have special part numbers specifically for our wiper arm attachments (they're not universal attachment) so they are very low profile and do not look cheesy like all the others. They're direct-connect so to speak.

Have not tried the Goodyear... Started with rainx latitudes years ago but they were too stiff and had the largest, ugliest and cheesiest attachment ever. Then I spent the big bucks on icons and they were good but expensive. I switched from icons to neoforms about 3 years ago and imo they are slightly better at a lower price. Super quiet, smooth, excellent attachment without any snap on adapters.

Mercedes wiper blade kit

I was at the dealer this weekend and inquired about the price of wiper blades. Mercedes now offers a kit (2 blades) for $49.00. They do not have the huge brackets the Bosch Icons have and I will buy my next set from the dealer. I thought the price would have been that much for one blade there.
