How to install phone?

As the title says, how do you install a cell phone?

I have a 05 E500 with COMMAND. I have no idea how to install the phone.

I don't think it has bluetooth and I can't seem to find a spot to plug it in.

Any advice would help.

Thanks.

You need to buy a Bluetooth interface module which clicks into a slot in your center console. You can get it from the dealer for around $500 or buy a new or used one off Ebay for much less than half that.

There is the new version of the Bluetooth module, which is part # B67875878, and an older version with a different part no.

Here's a link with information:

We have a better module (MUCH better) than the MB branded ones. It works with ALL phones and is software updatable.

That means you need either the full factory system (which frankly is not as good as the iTronic), or an iTronic BT. It replicates the entire factory system in one small box that gets plugged into the network behind the ashtray. There is a do it yourself video on our site...

Most years since 2004 the cars had to be ordered with "Phone Prewiring" option, or there was no provision for a phone. Go here to read up on the phone situation:

Wow.. looks like im going to deal with not having bluetooth in the car, not spending $800 for that, rather get some nice wheels for the MB or more parts for the Supra. Thanks for the info guys.

Same here....I don't need BT. I just saw that button on the dash and was trying to figure out how to use it. I don't see anything in my center console as well, just a wrench icon button and a 'i' button...don't know what those are either...

Thanks for all the info guys.

AT LEAST get an earpiece, we all know how annoying the driver is holding the phone to the head. Most states will require handsfree by the end of 2013 - one of our customers told us in New York it is a $250 fine!!

According to the link I posted, your car should have the connector in the console. Look inside the console in the daylight. Or you can call the number listed on the link I posted. As I said, you can buy the module for a couple of hundred dollars or less on eBay, and it's well worth having -- even if you only use the phone in the car occasionally.

He would need the underlying PSE module for that year to use the puck system. Although you can sometimes find used ones on ebay, it is a little bit of a crap shoot. That is why the iTronic BT is so popular.... no used parts, no pucks, no storage space taken, MOST important, no compatibility issues that the puck suffers from, just no worries. However, as a couple of the posters mentioned, they are not in areas that have bluetooth laws apparently, and they don't place much value on it.

I have BT in my 2010 C but rarely use it. If thhe E had it, I would figure out a way to use it, but paying close to $1K is not worth it. There's always speaker phone Thanks for directing me in the right direction though.
