Engine Mounts or Transmission?

Hello all,
I have a 2004 E 320. I noticed that the car runs very rough when its cold. I can't tell weather the rough sounds coming from the transmission or the vibration of the engine. All I know after I have driven the car for awhile (20-30 minutes) it gets smoother.

Sure way to tell if your mounts are out is to open your hood, put the car in drive and hold the brake and blip the throttle and see if the engine moves.
Also when my mounts were out it always vibrate at idle, if yours goes away it might be something else.

Thank you for the reply. I did the engine mounts check (as AzCamel suggested) the engine move up about half an inch. I did the samething test with my 05 accord and get the same result. So this means that my engine mounts still good?
Thanks

mine would move up a few inches up and down, so your mounts sound fine and as i suggested that if it goes away it is most likely another problem. I recall reading about a internal balancer that goes bad in the six cylindar model so you might look for that thread.
