how much to change 2 front ball joints?

how much to change 2 front ball joints?
My 2003 e500 was making a lot of noise. Took to independent and said both front ball joints need to be replaced.

How much is a fair amount to change them? I think the indi might want like $600 installed for both OEM ball joints. To me sounds like a lot of money. What do you think good deal? Ive been going to him for a long time he told me thats a VERY fair price.

2 joint ***** were $300 in parts alone? Where did they charge you $90 to install?

I replaced everything actually.....Lower/Upper ball joints. I had a local mechanic do it. Took him 45min.

anyways you got a GREAT deal. $400 for both upper and lower. its gonna cost me 600 for 2 lower!

yeah....shop around...Go to a local mechanic. No need to go to hifi place
