Lower ball joints

Today was a day that i got a chance to attack sqeeking ball joints. Let me tell u all its not as easy as it looks. here is a cost that i spend

Ball joints mayle heavy duty version paid 43 each at import discount local store

ball joint seperator 14.99 at harbor freight tools

3-in-1 Ball Joint/U-Joint/C-Frame Press Service Kit $69.99 harbor freight tools

Super heavy duty jack stands $24.99


other tools u will need

13mm socket
17mm socket
22mm socket
floor jack
T45 star bit
2 cheater bars about 4 to 5 ft long

couple beers and good friend to help.

it took me about 1.5 hours per side

Exactly which joint did you replace. Any tips?

S6 LP640 E500
I would assume the lower, since the uppers are 3 bolts only.

Guess you're right but there are 2 lower one conventional and one on a cross strut.

I replaced lower one closest to driver and passenger side and There is DIY on here but just be aware that u need some muscle to get the out and press back in. I had my brother help me but definitely worth saving over $300
