Please Help

I took my car to the stealership because the check engine light was on and they told me I had to replace the engine wire harness it was covered by the warranty but they told me the check engine light will still be on because the HID's caused the PREM sensor to fail.

Have never heard that the HID's would cause this sensor I never heard of to fail. Has anyone heard this to be true? They said with labor it would cost $492 but it would eventually happen again.

I would def get a better description of what they're gonna replace. The HID's don't really affect the engine wiring harness

so i got my car back from the stealership they replaced the engine wire harness and the left cam solonoid.

they said the HID's caused the coolant sensor to fail so the warranty does not cover that. has anyone heard of the HID's causing the coolant sensor to fail?

got the test report the code is 1337 and the event is 1897.
on the test report is says for event 1897 this fault
can be ignored and erased however the tech told me when
they erased it the code 1337 would appear again.

You asked for help and I'm not sure how helpful this answer is, as it seems obvious, but depending on how much this bothered/cost you, you might want to get a second opinion at a good Indy shop.

I am working on this same problem with my own car also a friends car too. Seems these codes appear in a group and there is an answer for these faults to all be happening at the same time. My problem happened one day when I started the car and there was a surge in the engine and the check eng light came on. My 07 CL 550 was in need of a new main battery as it was old and the idle was around 650 causing a lot of stress on the alternator. But I have seen this issue on 2 cars all with the same group of codes.
Sticky Throttle actuator, O2 sensor codes, Code 1337 alternator serial interface, O2 sensor heater. I am of the thought that these codes are ghost codes a result of one problem and these codes always appear in this group. I am currently digging through forums etc for the answer to this group of codes and what ultimately fixes it in the end. Anyone with this group of codes that all appeared at the same time please post your experience and what actually fixed the problem in the end. Your help is much appreciated thank you!

Benztech777 hasn't been on here in months and won't see your post. Try PMing them instead of repeatedly asking in the same thread.

First priority for an advanced tech is to load test battery, low voltage will cause all sorts of odd codes that will have rookie techs scratching their heads and chasing things that aren't there. Why not find a good reputable indy shop to get a second opinion? It cant hurt..

Thanks for your reply. New Battery is installed and Indy says, it's the ECM.
Alternator and regulator was tested and was ok, Throttle body was changed, O2 sensors were changed. LIN bus was checked.
But I am not convinced it's the ECM.
Stuck !!!

I'm with you, Very rarely is it the ECM and usually when a shop can't find the issue they will pint to the ECM as a last resort. I have had this happen twice on W202 and W210 and both times the problem was still there!! it wasn't the ECM...

You expect this idiot to be smart enough to do that when they can't even post in the correct section for the vehicle they own?
