Picked up a E350
Just got this 2007 E350. Took it up the mountains yesterday, So far so good..Smooth & Comfortable ride. Planning a trip next week from Vegas to Socal. Heard it will be smooth sailing.
Will be planning on modding it soon. So far Black roof, 8k HIDs, Debadged.
Anything I should be aware of maintenance wise?

Is that your car in the pic? If so I am pretty jealous on how sick it looks with German plates. Looks like a clean car. What are the details? Pano roof? 4matic? As for maintenance how many miles do you have on her? I don't think there are many things to look out for on this car

2009 W211 E350 AMG Sport PKG
Nice! I just picked up my 2009 W211 couple weeks ago Mine had 35k on the dash and picked it up for $28K.
Do you mind snapping more pictures of the vinyl roof? Debating if I should just wrap it or just shell out double the cash and paint it right..

I picked up a 2008 E320 (diesel) with 10k on odometer last week. Car looks brand new. Pretty excited about it - but had to retire my 95 E300D 343,422 on the odometer (I was only owner, transmission slipping).

Huh?
You have to be kidding! A vinyl roof is so 60/70's. Why would you want to screw up a perfectly nice looking car with a vinyl roof? At least when they first came out they were a new idea and were an attempt to give a car a convertible look. Now, they just make it look like a 60-70 year old is trying to relive their youth.
Don't do it. Bad idea. Will be a real pain to un-do it.

Tough call on that on that one.
While I'm not a fan of the vinyl roofs either and born in the 80's, I don't think worrying about older people thinking my 20XX Mercedes is a 60's throw back is a concern.
Also if you don't like it.. and probably never did it (well recently, maybe you did in the 60's), you probably have never removed it.. so where your experience coming from?
They use the vinyl wrapping currently for auto wraps in advertising.. it is all over, from giant buses, to peoples personal cars. They change the ads on big commercial buses every few weeks, the vinyl comes right off and leaves the exterior unscratched if done properly. Not sure what you are assuming, but in no way will you be sitting there for 8 weeks with 20 bottles of goo-gone picking off residue like a bumper sticker.

TECHNICALLY... his argument for getting a vinyl look is to say, he wants the pano roof look, without the pano headaches
Before getting my black benz with pano roof. I desperately wanted an arctic white w211 with pano roof. I love the look idk why. But i was very picky. I have yet to see a e550 4matic, amg package, pano roof. p2 car in arctic white. Apperently the owners are so happy with them they never wanted to sell them....but i am straying off topic. forgive me

Nope
Nope, I mean anyone who knows anything about the history of vinyl roofs on cars will think it's an old geezer trying to get back that 60's/70's vinyl roof look he and everyone else loved back then.
Somebody else said this was supposed to be getting you a panoramic sun-roof look. Got to be kidding, it looks like what it is, a vinyl roof, not a sun roof.
Finally, if it really is easy to remove when a person comes to their senses, great. It you paint it on, not to easy once you come your senses and want to get your car looking tasteful and handsome, again, like MB designed it, not going to easy or cheap.
You people are doing this guy no favors telling him that something this silly/ugly is good. What next, crushed velour on the roof? People, show some good taste!

Hmm.. so people born before the 50's will think it is screwed up, while people born after the 70's will think it looks pretty good?

that's the thing. Nobody knows the history of vinyl roofs. You're coming off way to strong on your opinion like its your car your defending. It comes down to the owner's taste whether he likes it or not. Pushing for "this looks like its 1960 again" argument is just as bad as "vinyl roof looks like a pano roof" argument. And im not kidding when i say the vinyl roof looks like a pano roof.

That's the beauty of private property ownership, you can do whatever you want with your own. I say do what makes you happy. I personally wouldn't do a vinyl wrap because I would assume it will age poorly, but do whatever makes you smile.
I personally changed the wheels, put in a 12" sub, and plan on tinting and de-badging my car. If someone thinks that is a bad idea, then they don't have to do it to their car.
