Air Ride
has anyone or know anyone that has put after market air bags on a w211?
i have a base model E and i been trying to decide on a suspension setup to go with and after picking through all the different types i think i decided i want to go air and scrap the full body coilover idea.
if anyone has any input at all i would greatly appreciate it

Putting them on is only engineering and doing it right.
However working the computer to think you dont' have a failure is the big issue. You will have to figure out how to outsmart the computer.

What you mean?
I have a base model E so I don't have airmatic setup right now. I assume the airmatic sensors is the computer you're talking about?

alot of w211 owners with airmatic wished we had regular springs/struts/coilovers. This is a weakpoint for us. Several have gone w/the KW coilovers and many will once we have airmatic failures.

the oem setup isnt made to go low tho, thats why you guys use links n washers to get it lower.
the after market is made to go lower and what not, made for a different purpose than the oem setup.
i just want a good drop, and im not sure if the coilovers provided for the E have a good drop. i want it all just for aesthetics

So I ended up just buying coilovers... I have a friend that owns a shop so I ended up getting them for cost
Out of all the suspensions I researched and called about k sport and D2 were the only real suspension that offered any kind of height adjustment. Bilstein pss9 and kw v3 according to the manufacturers really only allows about a 1-1.5 inch drop
I ended up going with the ksports, hopefully they will ride good but I will make a thread once I have the car complete and running, I haven't seen very many reviews on any coilovers for the w211 so hopefully I can add to the community with that thread
