To those that removed there CD CHANGER
I have seen alot of threads on installing and removing the cd changer but none explain what to do with the fiber optic cable from the cd changer, when you disconnect them from the cd chager the radio goes black and displays the MB LOGO... I have no use for the cd changer and want to use that compartment for something else...
** THIS IS NOT THE COMMAND RADIO **
any help or advice is greatly appreciated in advance!!!!

I remember when installed my comand (I know you don't have a comand) but when I installed mine and I did not connect the cd changer my head unit wouldn't work, not sure if it works the same with like just a regular a50 unit or whatever you have.
Have you tried just leaving the fiber disconnected?

Yepp I tried leaving it disconnected but it wouldn't work :-/ I'm thinking about gutting the entire unit and now going double din touch screen with the Bluetooth it has all features audio50 has and more.. Tried everything this evening to allow it to work with our changer but once removed entire radio goes out... Hmmmm
