As far as I hear, Kleemann will scrap the AMG compressor system.
They will make mods. to their exhisting system, run higher boost
with lower discharge temperature, the HP's will come like
**** from a sick cow.

Sounds incredible Lucas.
Have you heard of any SL55s being delivered yet? I ask because of rumors with delay in release of this car because of fuel consumption problem. It is probably just a self perpetuating rumor, that I am helping to nurture by asking, but I wanted to know. Thanks.

I bought a SL 55 my self from a MB dealer in Germany in Dec. 2001, but they are not aloud to deliver the car to me before some time in April 2002.
I thing you are right, AMG has been facing very big problems the last 6 month, with the AMG 32.
They promise that the car will run 8,5 km pr.L measured at an Euro mix. Even if you send your grand mother to the city mall, the AMG 32 will not even run 6 km.pr.L.
Lots of people here in Europe feels that they have bought " the cat in the bag " and want's to return the cars.
The V6 and V8 AMG compressor engines are built after the same principels, just try and imagine how much fuel the new AMG 55 will
use ?????.
My Kleemann S 50 K with 500 HP, runs 8-9 km pr. L with 130 mph
traveling speed, this is not so bad.
But no, I still haven't heard of any who have taken delivery of a new SL 55.
I will make a new post as soon as I drive my car, but I will bring it to Kleemann for the 650 HP conversion a.s.a.p.

I truly speculate that AMG has ripped off Kleemann's design! In the December 2001 issue of Car & Driver magazine they reported this:
"The Danish firm has been hot-rodding Benzes for 15 years and has done the job well enough to earn Stuttgart's confience, ... Kleemann guys get dealt in early when new engine developments come from the mother ship. (For example, Kleemann showed a super-charged 24-valve V-8 just as that engine was introduced in the '98 E430)"
"If the idea looks like a rip-off of a C32 AMG from Mercedes' in-house tuner, you should know that the Kleemann setup hit the streets first."

Oh you're right! Almost forgot about that.

Guys
KLEEMANN did have meetings with AMG Summer 1999, they where
invited back, in the beginning of 2000, where MB took over the last 51% of the AMG company from one of it's original founders.
KLEEMANN went back to AMG in 2000 assisted by a technical director from Daimler Chrysler Scandinavia which supported the
KLEEMANN products as very high quality.
AMG looked and tested, they where very impressed and then the Director from AMG said " How do you suggest that I tell by board,
that a small company from Denmark, developed something which
is far better, than houndreds of people and millions of $$$$ could do here at AMG/ MB..... Sorry guys ".
No question, AMG have made a major rip off from the KLEEMANN
design, they just missed a few very important things.
Kleemann systems are still far ahead in technology, so AMG must
stay in the dust.

At that speed you can cross your country [Denmark] in 25 minutes! Why?

By the way I prommised to let you know how it was going with the AMG 55 kompressors, after rumours in delays of delivery.
All SL 55 has now been called back to AMG, because of technical problems ( that's all they are saying ), delivery time unknown.
CLK 55, the new 209, will not come as a 55 compressor, in the beginning, it will come as a 55 aspirated 364 HP, EU spec.
55 compressor delivery time unknown.
E 55, the new 211 will not come in September 2002, delivery time
unknown.
So my SL 55 I should have delivered in 3 weeks, will go back from the dealer to AMG and stay there untill further notice ????.
So I guess the rumours where true after all.
:o :o :o

Lucas, that is a true shame! I hope they get to the bottom of the problem, so you can get your SL55k. Mercedes ripped off Kleemann's kompressor design and then did not get it right. I wonder if C32k and SLK32k cars are also experiencing any problems with AMG superchargers.

The AMG 32 allready have major problems, they use fuel like a car
from 1960. If that's not a problem in todays world, what is.
To make HP is not difficult, but to make a lot HP in a car you can drive every day, that's not easy.
This is here KLEEMANN are kicking a..
