E350 Packages

Hi, guys I'm new here but not new to Benzs. I'm in the market for a preowned car and my choices are between the GS300 or GS350 and the E350. My buddy has one (E350) and doesn't have complaints on it other than stealership costs on stuff which he always goes to for service...Now my question is I keep searching for info but can't find out what package contains what on the 07-08 E350. In Lexus for instance, the Mark Levinson audio is bundled in its own package with the nav, and there aren't too many options to add as things are standard. In the Benz, I see there is an option for the HK Logic7, but what package is that bundled with? I know there is a P1, P2, and 333 sport? But what is in each specifically? Also, any other helpful info on the car will be appreciated, thank you all.

Thank you, that was helpful. As far as reliability and/or common problems and recalls, any input on this guys ? I read through the recall thread and it seems recalls are all over, any main ones to pay attention to ?

On the 350, balance shaft issues, depending on when the car was made-that can be checked with the VIN.

Also, valve body issues on the 7 speed transmission.

I have had both on my 2007 E350. I still love the car.

I purchased a 2007 E350 Sport P1 Package with Panorama Roof and Sirius Radio. I got it three months ago with 66,000 miles and the Car Fax was full of info. The previous owner did all maintenance at the dealer. It looks like there were a few items replaced under warranty but cared for like a newborn. Lexus makes a great a car but E350 is a fantastic car. My only gripes would have to that Xenon headlights and leather are not standard equipment. Even with that, the fit and finish is well worth it. I got the car for my wife and she loves it. I drive 2005 Jaguar S-Type R and find myself driving her car whenever I can

Is there a specific date I should look at? Also, when you say check with VIN do you mean through the MB website? Lexus has that option where it allows you to check all service records and maintenance done on the car through the site with the VIN. Thanks for your input.

You will need to contact and/or visit a dealer and if cooperative (dealer discretion), they will provide a VMI (vehicle master inquiry) that will document all work completed by MB.

One strategy is to approach the MB dealer, ask for a CPO car which they sold new, ask for their service records since delivery, and also if they can help you contact the original owner.

BTW, after 3 years, our 2008 is approaching 50,000 miles and has been completely reliable. We had a piece of trim replaced once.
