Intermittent High Beam headlamp

Intermittent High Beam headlamp
My car has developed an intermittent left high beam headlamp. It will go off every once and a while and show up as a Malfunction on the dash display. The lamp is, in fact, not operating when the malfunction displays. If I switch to low beams and leave them on for a couple minutes, the left high beam will then operate OK and malfunction indication goes away. It also seems to reset and work after I stop and turn the car off.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I haven't taken it into the MB dealer as yet since I don't drive all that much at night and the night visibility is pretty good with the two low beams and right high beam. I do not have the xenon head lamps. I'll be getting my replacement car next month so can probably live with this for a month but it's another example of strange electronic bugs on these new E class cars.
